PILLARS OF NPSCNP

PRIMARY SCHOOL I-III
Children begin to acquire knowledge and skills, but also develop executive functioning and meta-cognition. As our young students learn what it means to be a part of a community. As primary graders, they become leaders and role models for their peers. By the time student’s graduate lower school, they have found their voice and developed the confidence to use it.
The program revolves around the Responsive Classroom model, which is a student centered, holistic methodology that emphasizes social, emotional, and academic growth equally.
Every day starts with a morning meeting, which includes a greeting, a time for sharing, a group activity, and announcements. At the end of the day, classes regroup, recap and reflect on each day’s accomplishments and challenges in a similar closing meeting. Through this deliberate routine, students learn to practice speaking, listening, and responding in a community of caring and respectful learners. The end result is a safe environment for children to take the risks necessary for growth.

OUR FACULTIES
The heart of our schooling is an inspired faculty representing an extraordinary breadth of experience and interests that they share willingly with students. Teachers create an environment in which students are excited to show up early, happy to stay late, and eager to participate in class. Rapport drives classroom discussions in which teachers and students push each other to take learning further. The common thread among our entire faculty is a profound commitment to each child and relentless optimism in their potential

CO-CURRICULAR
Education must go beyond the formal curriculum and provide opportunities for children to undertake this most exciting of adventures. These opportunities must feed the mind, body and soul as we seek to educate the whole child and develop their artistic, cultural and athletic dimensions to help them grow into the best versions of themselves.
At NPS Channapatna, staffs work extremely hard to provide these opportunities. They coach and manage sporting teams, and coordinate clubs, activities, lending their considerable talents to grow and nurture the innate gifts and talents of the students. Participation in these activities is both community and confidence building, and encourages the development of skills beyond the actual activity being undertaken.
